Core concepts

Understanding these core concepts is essential to working with Pulse Connect.

Account

An account is the top-level organizational container. Every user, connector, group, and view belongs to a single account. An account is created during registration.

Connector (Server)

A Connector is a configured connection to an external data system. It includes the base URL of the external system, the adapter type (which governs how data is queried and formatted), and the authentication credentials needed to access it.

Endpoint

An Endpoint is a specific data path within a Connector. For example, a Connector might represent a CRM system, and one of its Endpoints could be "Accounts List" (returning a list of records) while another is "Account Detail" (returning a single record). Endpoints are created and maintained by Administrators.

View

A View is a configurable page that users interact with. There are two types:

Group

A Group is a named collection that links Users to Views. A user only sees the views that belong to at least one group they are a member of. This is the primary mechanism for controlling access to data.

Watchlist

A personal board where each user saves links to individual records they want to monitor or revisit. The Watchlist is organized into four customizable columns.
