Definitions for key terms used throughout the Pulse Connect documentation.

Term Definition
Account The organizational container in Pulse Connect. All data, users, and configuration belong to one account.
Adapter The software component that translates how Pulse Connect communicates with a specific external system (e.g., Oracle Fusion adapter, Salesforce adapter).
Basic Panel A detail view panel type that displays field-value pairs from a record dataset.
Connector A configured connection to an external data system. Also called a “Server” in some parts of the interface.
Contextual Area The header section of a Detail Page that shows key summary information about the currently viewed record.
Dataset A data source bound to a detail view, used to populate panels with information from an external system.
Designer Mode An in-page editing mode that allows Designers to configure views while viewing real data.
Detail View A page type that shows all information about a single record, organized in panels.
Drilldown A sliding panel in a List Panel that reveals all available fields for a selected row.
Embed Only A user role restricted to accessing views only when embedded in another application.
Endpoint A specific named data query within a Connector, pointing to a particular path in the external system.
Group A named collection linking users to views. Users only see views from groups they belong to.
List Panel A detail view panel type that displays a list of related records.
Lookup Dataset A dataset type that fetches a list and uses the first matching item as a single record.
Proxy The mechanism by which Pulse Connect fetches data from external systems on behalf of the user, without exposing credentials.
Search View A page type that displays a filterable, sortable list of records.
Session An authenticated user’s active connection to Pulse Connect. A user can have only one active session at a time.
View A configured page (either Search or Detail) that users interact with.
Watchlist A personal board where users save links to specific records for later reference.
